Biography

The musical journey of Andrew N. Aebersold

Radianation began with a piano.

Andrew N. Aebersold grew up in New Albany, Indiana, teaching himself piano by ear at five. By adolescence, he was first-chair cellist in his school orchestra, active in choir and show choir, and studying piano formally. Music was foundational from the beginning.

Technology became the instrument.

In 1991, that foundation extended into digital production. An Amiga 500 and 8-bit sampler introduced him to electronic composition. Using ProTracker, he sampled his Korg Polysix and built four-track productions under the name "Rad!" Technology became the instrument.

LPS Records & Megalomania

In 1996, before releasing his debut album, Andrew founded LPS Records. Designed to provide production, distribution, and promotional infrastructure for independent electronic artists, the label reflected both creative ambition and systems-level thinking. That same year, he released Megalomania, establishing Radianation as both an artistic and entrepreneurial venture.

The underground rave circuit.

Live hardware performances within the underground rave circuit soon followed. Touring throughout the Midwest, Andrew performed at events ranging from intimate nightclub or house-party gatherings to large-scale warehouse and outdoor productions drawing crowds of up to 5,000 attendees. The scale and improvisational intensity of those shows shaped his second album, Don't Wake Up From My Dream, capturing the raw energy of that era.

During this period, his production work expanded into television and film sync licensing. Original compositions and productions were placed in programs including Smallville, The Real World, Road Rules, and VH1 Divas, extending his reach beyond the underground scene.

Through LPS Records, he produced the Variable compilation series and supported emerging artists while building a growing catalog.

Mediaura

In 2003, while operating LPS Records, Andrew launched Mediaura, a digital agency born from the advanced web and marketing systems he had built for music promotion. Demand for those capabilities expanded rapidly beyond music. Mediaura grew into an award-winning agency and now celebrates 23 years in business.

Karmony

In 2005, he released Karmony, the only fully collaborative chapter in the Radianation catalog. Featuring recorded vocals by Annie Gibson and guest musicians in both studio and live settings, the album marked a deliberate expansion into ensemble-driven songwriting.

As Mediaura scaled, it required his full attention. Between 2005 and 2021, Andrew stepped back from actively running LPS Records and releasing new music to build a sustainable digital enterprise. While public releases paused, his technical depth and production discipline continued to evolve.

The return.

In 2021, he returned to Radianation as a fully independent artist. Writing, producing, and performing his own material, he developed Project 2022 and stepped forward as primary vocalist, unifying voice and production into a singular artistic identity.

Subsequent releases, Casting Spells (2024) and The White Rabbit (2025), extended this trajectory, blending electronic architecture with alternative and atmospheric influences reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, New Order, and early Pink Floyd.

What's next.

Current projects include Life After Mars, expanding on the conceptual arc of The White Rabbit; the progressive house EP Wake Me Up From This Nightmare, revisiting his 1990s electronic roots; and a classic rock–influenced album exploring analog texture and spatial composition.

Today, Radianation is entirely self-contained. Andrew writes, performs, records, mixes, and masters all of the music himself in his home studio. The project represents decades of evolution across underground performance, television sync production, independent label building, digital entrepreneurship, and singular authorship. The through-line remains constant: disciplined experimentation, technical precision, and forward momentum.

Influences

Radianation draws inspiration from an eclectic array of musical icons. Echoes of Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Massive Attack, Unkle, Bjork, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, Groove Armada, and countless others reverberate within his compositions.

"What is the definition of reality? Believe, and it's reality."
